By embracing historical roots and integrating new elements of an ecologically oriented architecture the old residential and commercial building at central Berlin ́s Friedrichstraße 122/123 has been transformed into the Gruenehaus. Thus it ́s offering its residential and commercial tenants an atmosphere of tangible well-being due to a holistically conceived „both and“ in tradition and innovation. Hereby lies the focus of our considerations not on the inexpensive, but on the livable solution.

The Gruenehaus has been at the center of urban life since its construction in 1898. Although partially damaged during World War Two and laying dormant for a long time, we have now carefully restored the character of the old building and comprehensively modernized it. Where the original structure was lost, we have integrated modern building elements in an exciting dialogue with the preserved structure. By combining the old and the new in this way we have breathed new life into the building--a continuation of being a vital part of the urban landscape.
